I Just can't get enough...

I've never been a huge Drew fan, but as I've said on an earlier post, she has never looked better.
This spread in the October Bazaar, is off the chain!! Everything about it gives me goosebumps: her hair, makeup, the lighting, the location, and I can't even speak about the clothes. Gaultier, Dior, Givenchy????
It's seriously perfection in my book.
She's come a LONG way.

A non-baby related post.

Okay. If you know me at all, it's no secret that I have a thing for tattoos on a dude. The more the better in my opinion. Oddly enough, I married a man who is absent of any ink--go figure.
I don't know what it is, but I have been this way since I discovered head banger's ball late Friday nights in the 80's.

Take a heavily tattooed Italian guy, and a passion for home design, and I am in heaven.
Needless to say, I am smitten with Mr. Ballatore. I didn't watch him win HGTV's design series (because personally I think that show belongs in the toilet), but I am obsessed with his show, The Antonio Treatment.

I have really been missing Los Angeles lately, and this show isn't helping. I have been coming up with ways to take a toddler and a newborn for a visit so that I can stalk Antonio, and beg him for a job.

I would be more than willing to tattoo sleeves on my arms to be part of his crew.

31 days.

Today, my sweet girl, you are one month old.
It's hard t believe that 4 weeks has gone by already. How did we live without you before? Even your big brother is starting to become a big fan of yours.
Thank you for going so easy on your dad and I----we haven't done this 2 kid thing before.
There is so much that I am looking forward to --all of the fun girly things that we get to do together. But right now, I'm just enjoying where you're at. Today. A one month old bundle of cuteness.
Even when you poop on me.

Miracles do happen.

When we first brought our little lady home from the hospital, our son was not having any of it.
He screeched every time he saw her. The whining went on for days and days, and I was convinced that this was just the way it was going to be.
Fast forward a couple of weeks, and he has really warmed up to her. If she cries, he runs over to see if she's okay, and he LOVES holding her in his lap. Sometimes he thinks her head is a drum, but most of the time he's super gentle with her. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we started dressing her in his old clothes because NOTHING fits her, she's so tiny.
Or maybe, just maybe, he loves having a sister.

Already??!!

I can't believe your birthday is here.
Today.
Wow.
I guess having our little girl 3 weeks ago really makes time fly even faster than normal.
I am so excited to spend the day with you--I love you even more this birthday than I did last year.
That's a whole lotta love.

If I had a dime.....

The phrase, "One day at a time" has been said by many, and I am quite certain that I have used it on several occasions myself.
Recently, a very dear friend of mine sent me an encouraging email with those very words at the end, and they really struck a chord.
You see, I am a planner. I like structure. I don't enjoy a dirty dish sitting in the sink, and I love a crossed of to-do list.
Having 2 babies under the age of 2 is not the easiest thing that I have ever done, I assure you. I am really working hard on not obsessing over the little things, and just enjoying this time, because I know that it will be gone in the blink of an eye. Most moments I am able to "keep it together", and shake off the challenging situations that come up. I think the hardest thing is when they are both crying at the same time. My son tries to out-cry his sister, and 9 times out of 10, this is all happening in the car for Pete's sake.
Before, when I just had Add, it was so easy to get out of the house, plan our day, work around his nap schedule to get stuff done, etc. Now, every moment is different. Sure, we get out and do stuff, but it's all been with the help of my husband (who is beyond amazing by the way).
I worry, "How will I do this alone?".
Then the words of my dear friend Bridgett come to mind, "One day at a time".
So, that's my mantra from now on. Though some days it might have to change to "one hour at a time".

I've made a new friend.

How cute is she?
Meet Natalie, a new blog friend of mine that I "met" through my friend Mel. She is a fellow stay at home mamma to an adorable boy named Sterling (how rockin' is that name?). She shares a passion for shopping, cooking, and home decor, and I just love reading what she has to say (especially her recipes!).

Recently Natalie tagged me in a fun questionnaire, so here I go!

1)What is your signature color?

It depends. If we're talking home decor, I would have to say gray. Most of my walls are some sort of gray, which is why my husband's eyes almost popped out of his head when I recently picked a shade of brown for our bedroom.
If we're talking make-up, I LOVE me a good red lip. Some of my faves are Red Square, Dragon Girl, Jungle Red,
and Blood Work, all by NARS.

2)What is your most embarrassing moment?

Oh, this is hard to narrow down, as I have had a few. The first that comes to mind is several years ago I was on a first date. We were at a benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina, and we had back stage passes. I was walking down a long flight of LOUD METAL stairs in high heels and super wide legged jeans that were cuffed. My heel caught on the cuff and I stumbled all the way down the stairs, and slammed into Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters.
Classy.

3)Would you get anything pierced other than your ears? If so what?

Too late--when I was 18, I was driving by myself and decided I wanted to get my belly button pierced. So I did.
I took it out when I was 23, and still have a funny mark where it used to be.
Again, classy.

4)Are you a social butterfly or homebody?

Both. I used to get out more, but since being married and becoming a mom, one of my favorite things to do, is have friends over for dinner. My husband and I love to cook, and this way we don't have to worry about getting a babysitter! Every once in a while it's nice to get out though.

5)Are you done having babies or do you want more?

Well, I just gave birth to my darling daughter 2 weeks ago, and our family feels complete. Though I think her brother wants to send her back.

6)Are you loyal to your hairstylist or do you try every new salon in town?

This question is going to put me over the edge!! My best friend Amber has been doing my hair pretty much since I've lived in Kansas City. She has become like a sister to me, and her salon was seriously the coolest ever. She just moved back to Austin, which is KILLING me, I miss her so much!! Needless to say, I'm either going to be going to Austin every couple of months, or my roots are going to suffer.

7)How many times have you moved in your life?
Seven. Some were in Chicago, Los Angeles, and here in Kansas City.
And I don't feel "done" moving. I'm not a gypsy per say, but I am open to the idea of re-locating.

8)If you could take a vacation for just you and your love where would it be?

Right now, given the fact that we are sleep deprived with a toddler and a new born to take care of, I would say somewhere beach-y and quiet, which normally isn't our thing. We love big cities, and sight seeing--but right now rest and waves would be perfect.

Thanks Natalie for tagging me!
