Perfection

For those of you who don't know, I'm a make-up artist. I do a lot of wedding make-up, and I think this look is fantastic for a wedding. I hope to have my website up and running soon that will showcase my work. In the meantime, if you or anyone you know is in need of an artist, shoot me an email. I do travel!

Hi Abee!!

I think if you love make-up, and are passionate about it, go for it! The more and more you practice it, the better you will get, and your confidence will grow!

I started out not even knowing how to hold a mascara wand!!
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Hi there! Just stumbled upon your blog mere moments ago and am already in love.

Like Abee, I too am *somewhat* of an aspiring makeup artist. For as long as I can remember, I've been in love with the art of makeup. As a teen I soaked up every issue of Allure, kept an album of tear out sheets from magazines with ideas for looks I could replicate, and cherished each and every one of Kevyn Aucoin's books. Now as an adult I'm working in the corporate world (very much outside of the creative realm) and dreaming of a way out. I've never actually done makeup professionally, but I constantly get compliments and questions about my own makeup and have done makeup for friends by request for engagement parties, Halloween, etc.

I think that many people like me (and perhaps Abee who also commented on this post) are eager to break into the business, but don't know where to begin or how to go about getting experience without having...experience (the ultimate catch 22). On that note, I would love it if you were to post an entry detailing how it is you came to become a m/u artist, the steps you took, training, eduction, etc. and how you went about getting experience under your belt.

Thanks so much! Looking forward to keeping up with all your posts (be they makeup inspired or otherwise)...
:-)Dawn

Dawn you are so sweet! And what A great idea about the blog entry! I vow to do that next week! I am using my husband's computer to type this, because my power cord is d-e-a-d (started smoking!!)-as soon as I get a replacement, I will be back to blogging!
Thanks so much, and stay tuned!!
