Ring a Ding Ding

While doing some fantasy shopping on Net-A-Porter, I came across several rings that I would like to be the proud owner of.
Take a look-see for yourself:
If I had this tiger ring around my finger, it would always remind me to think of tigers.

Out of the closet.

This is Jeana. There are many reasons why I stalk her. She has great style. She takes amazing photos. She lives in L.A. We share the same name. She loves food. How do I know so much about her without ever having met her? Her fabulous blog, of course.
A reason to wake up on Mondays? Her closet visits. Because Jeana is the coolest ever, she knows cool people, gets invited into their closets, and we get a peek.

Here are some of my favorites from her visits:

There are no words to describe my love for this poncho.
If I was still living in L.A., I would stalk her big time.
Hair envy? Yes mam.
Shoe envy? you betcha.

Stop it!!!! I see a DIY in my future.
Take my breath away perfect tunic.
This is exactly how I look every day.

You can bet your life savings on the fact that she would get stalked.

And that her ring would mysteriously disappear.

Yes, I will join you on your patio for some Rose'.

And this beauty, is my sweet, sweet friend Jessie. Jessie also had mad style, and gets to use her talents here in Kansas City as a stylist. She will literally come to your closet, and throw out the crap you've been hoarding, and help you find what you need to fill in the gaps. If you already have fabulous fashion sense, you might find her snapping your photo for her street style blog.

Recently, Jessie came over to play in my closet and she featured or afternoon of fun on her blog. Stalk away!!

Being a creep pays off.

So about a year or so ago, I was working a make-up gig, and one of our clients had the most insane earrings on. I immediately put my brushes down, left my client (so professional), and had to know where these beauties came from. The sweet gal told me that a friend of hers made them, and lives in Lawrence, Ks. Well, of course my pregnant brain could NOT for the life of me remember her name. After much stalking on line, a friend of mine was able to find her, and my life has never been the same. Yes, I am way over dramatic here, but I am in LOVE with her work, and I am sure you will be too.
The creative genius behind all of this gorgeousness, is Rachel Dempsey. Rachel is originally from Kansas City, and has been living in Lawrence (one of my FAVE places ever) for the last 8 years.
I recently stalked, er, contacted Rachel to know a bit more about herself. She has a serious passion for collecting and creating jewelry, and is inspired by Native American work as well as classic vintage jewelry.
All of her bead weaving is done by hand, and each piece is an original design. How cool is that?
She has recently incorporated gemstones as well as crystals into her bead weaving.

If you live in Kansas City you are one lucky duck, because her creations will be at the Bizarre Bazaar at the Lawrence art center on November 27th, and at the LOLA Giant show at Van Go December 11th and 12th.

Rachel's website is almost up and running, but for now, you too can be a stalker on her facebook page.

Odylyne.

For the past 2 days, I worked on a photo shoot for a local high end fashion magazine with some uber talented people. It was incredible, and I cannot wait to see the end result.
That issue doesn't launch until January, so I won't be posting any photos until then. What I can say, is one of the looks was 70s inspired, and we all know how I feel about that era.
I about stopped breathing when one of the models came out in one of the most stunning dresses ev-ah.
The dress is by Odylyne, and after seeing the look book on set, I knew I had to check out more of the collection. I wasn't able to find much on line, but keep your eyes peeled, because this is one to watch for sure.
The photos above do not do the line much justice, so do yourself a favor, and find a boutique that carries the line so you can see it in person.

And if the designers happen to stumble across this free bit of advertising, I would be happy to give you my address so that you can send me some pieces as a thank you.

Two heads are better than one.

During the day, my little miss isn't in love with me putting her down. Not even if mamma has to pee. This doesn't bother me all that much for several reasons. One, she sleeps a good 8 hour stretch at night thank you Jesus. Two, there is the God created apparatus called a baby Bjorn. Three, she's super duper cute.

While I am ever so grateful for this over the shoulder baby holder, you can only get so much done, especially if you're short, as I am. I try to prep a bit for dinner, but I can't see what I'm trying to slice or dice, and that, is dangerous.
So either the little lady is napping on me while I catch up on any and every reality show on the DVR, or, we have fun with photo booth.
I am really enjoying our mommy daughter time while her big brother is napping, and am grateful for all of the sleep smiles that I get to catch from her sweet little face.

Having every limb fall asleep, and being afraid to move while on the couch is another thing.

Oui Oui, Anna Sui.

Anna Sui. There really isn't another designer like her out there if you ask me. Her hippie-boho-rock vibe is way up my alley. She is truly unique, and though I don't love every piece she creates, her esthetic as a whole, is super attractive.
Before being able to buy any of her designs, I wore her fragrance in my early 20's religiously. That purple and black bottle? I was obsessed. Fast forward a decade or so later, and I was marrying my husband in one of her gowns.
She recently launched a super chic coffee table book that I would love to own, but what I would really love to get my hands on, is her New York apartment.

I love how most of her designs are an homage to the 70s, which is my most fav-or-ite time for fashion. That free spirited-ness combined with a rocker edge is always what I'm the most drawn to, and nobody does it better than Anna.

Have any of you purchased her book?
